Christine is a 16-year-old girl who experienced an L CVA last year resulting in right hemiplegia. Christine is currently a junior in high school. She was able to complete her sophomore year despite her hospitalization. Christine likes to sing and is interested in learning to drive (although she believes her parents are reluctant for her to do so). Christine is now able to COMPLETE all of her ADLs independently with adaptive equipment. Writing is still difficult for her, but she states she is doing okay in school. She is able to type with her left hand. OT intervention is aimed at improving Christine's ability to engage in her daily occupations by improving her ability to use her right hand. The intervention includes weight bearing, stretching, e-stim, splinting, passive and active range of motion and a variety of functional activities. The OT intervention also includes compensatory techniques such as modifications and adaptive equipment to help Christine complete her school, home, and leisure occupations.
