I'm a SEU intern and we are working together to develop a new Student Ministry Practicum that provides opportunities for our practicum students to shadow all church departments. This allows a ministry student to take "book learning" into real-life experiences. This is not a "train to learn the position" experience, rather, a time to talk with those key people and learn how this department "fits" into the rest of the flow of the church. I want to learn the importance of each of these departments.
My overall practicum experience sounds like it is going very amazing. I'm involved in a variety of different ministries, and learning a lot about how the church works and how to serve the community. It is also great that you have had the opportunity to interview Pastor Giovany Gonzalez. This has given you a better understanding of their vision for the church and their ministries. I interviewed Katina Jimenez, the prayer team leader for the House Modesto. I conduct brief interviews to learn from their experiences in ministry- your best practices, key lessons, and how you've tackled real-life ministry challenges. Katina showed me how she conducted a whole powerful Pray team for the ministry. I interviewed Katina partner Gloria, a prayer team warrior.
How your overall practicum experience is going so far this semester. I go to The House Modesto Assembly of God Church. It is an honor to hear people's testimonies. I joined pastor Joey Macias H-class for Lifestyle Evangelism to be equipped with the characteristics that are essential to be the lifestyle evangelist that Jesus Called me to be. I focus this semester applying my un-class learning to interaction with people. I interviewed multiple key people within the church to learn real life application for the concepts I am learning. I helped with multiple events at the House modesto, including fall fest and chapels. I helped every Sunday recruiting for SEU NorCal. My willingness to help and have a servant heart for my school. I provide immediate feedback from events, interviews and manning tables to my supervisor.

Course PMIN 2303 Student Ministry Practicum
