Throughout this course, you will develop a marketing campaign in pieces. Each week will focus on a different segment of the campaign strategy. It is important that you use the same selected business each week. Please do not integrate previously used content from other courses or assessments.

Preparation

Select a prominent business or company you would like to research for developing a marketing campaign. You can review Get Started with Marketing Research and Business Source Complete in the University Library for business ideas. The business you select will be used throughout the weekly assignments in this course.

You can also visit marketing professional organizations, such as 4A's or the American Marketing Association, for ideas on businesses and products.

Imagine you are a brand or product manager for your selected prominent business. You and your marketing team have been tasked by the corporate leadership team with selecting a target market to advertise your product or service. You must direct your staff to effectively determine the brand's positioning.

Assignment Deliverable

Develop a three hundred and fifty- to seven hundred-word summary for your selected business that includes the following:

  • The business name and description
  • An assessment of the brand's positioning
  • An assessment of different segments that might exist in the company's target market
  • Details of customers and potential customers who represent the company's market segment and how you plan to analyze their behavior
  • A SWOT analysis of your focus business and its competition
