TASK 1

Choose a group / participants / sport / activity / program to run eight (8) x 30min sessions preparing for a (60min) competition / game. Coach the athletes / group through the game / competition. Approach the task from a community based coaching role.

The participants / group chosen should cover at least two (2) of these population groups:

boys
girls
adolescent boys
adolescent girls
adult men
adult women
pregnant women
older adults
those with a physical disability
those who are deaf or hard of hearing
the blind and visually impaired
those with an intellectual disability
culturally and linguistically diverse group

Support one (1) of the participants with their sports psychology needs during the program.

TASK 2

Analyse the sport / activity chosen and Make an overview. Cover the following:

Sport and competition chosen.
Level, structure and length / dates of the competition.
Rules of the game / sport.
Organisational policies and procedures applicable to coaching participants in competition (Refer to the NSO (National Sporting Organisations)).
Responsibilities of coaches and officials in competition.
Sport-specific terminology.
Competition risks and methods for minimising risks to facilities, equipment, and, resources and environmental risks.

Fitness requirements:

Which components of fitness are the most important to the sport.
The energy system requirements of the sport.

Psychological considerations:

Are there any important psychological considerations related to the sport.

Skills / Technique performance targets:

Define any skill performance targets that relate to the sport. Eg: Reaction times, completion rates, shooting targets, speed of movement etc.

Competition or performance targets:

Define Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and their relevance to sports-specific outcomes eg completion rates, shooting percentage etc.
