Q1) Manufacturer of chocolate candies utilizes machines to package candies as they move along a filling line. Though packages are labelled as 8 ounces, company wishes packages to consist 8.17 ounces so that virtually none of packages consist less than 8 ounces. Sample of 50 packages is chosen periodically, and packaging process is stopped if there is evidence that mean amount packaged is different from 8.17 ounces. Assume that in particular sample of 50 packages, mean amount dispensed is 8.159 ounces, with sample standard deviation of 0.051 ounce.

i) Is there evidence that population mean amount is different form 8.17 ounces? (Use a 0.05 level of significance.)

ii) Find out p-value and interpret its meaning.
