Once the topic has been selected and the group formed, the group will conduct a modified Needs Analysis where the rest of the students in this class will be the eventual learners and the audience for the final practicum.
This means that groups will either interview or survey others in the class to determine their current skill level with the selected learning topic, their learning preference & motivation to learn this particular topic.

The group's survey or interview should be structured to adequately gather information which will be
used to design the training module and deliver it to the learners (the rest of the class).
Before administering this survey or interview, the group needs to determine the desired level of performance/knowledge. Based on results from the learner feedback, groups can then determine the gap between the learner's current performance/knowledge and the desired level of performance/knowledge.
If interviewing learners (ie. Students in this class), it is not expected that the group will speak to each student in this class, but instead, solicit feedback from a solid sample size (fyi - class size is approximately 40 students, meaning a sample size of 10 students would be fine).
If surveying learners, groups can use an anonymous survey tool such as Survey Monkey to administer to the class.
If administering another synchronous survey feedback tool which requires in-class participation (ie. Kahoot, Mentimeter, Padlet, etc), groups will inform me (Cindy) and I will allocate time in class to allow the group to administer the survey.
3. After data is collected from the learners (other students in the class), the group will conduct an analysis of the results and interpret the data to describe your learning audience including their current skill level, learning preference and how the data will be used to influence your training design and delivery.
4. The group will summarize this in a formal written report and presentation (no more than 10 minutes) to include the following:
- Topic Introduction - why chosen and how learners will benefit from this topic
- Needs analysis data collection - what tool/process was selected & why, how the tool/process was administered/executed, what questions were asked & why
- Needs analysis results & summary - what data was collected and what did the results tell you about your learners, how will this information influence how you design & deliver the training module

Written Report
. This means that evidence of research is required. Research can include rationale for the needs assessment tool/process used, how results of learner styles & motivation will influence training design & delivery, and any other decision or assumptions made.
Research may also include investigating your topic to determine the desired level of learner knowledge, skill or proficiency in your topic.
