Helium enters an adiabatic steady-state nozzle at 200kPa and 124 degrees Celsius and 10m/s. At the nozzle exit the temperature of the helium is 100 degrees Celsius and the pressure = 150 kPa.

1) Determine the velocity of the steam at the nozzle outlet.

a) 100 m/s b) 200 m/s c) 400 m/s d) 500 m/s

2) The nozzle process specifide is: (explain)

a)Reversible and adiabatic

b) Reversible because the generated entropy in the surroundings = 0

c) Impossible because the entropy of helium decreases

d) Irreversible because the entropy of helium increases
