Hemoglobin is composed of four polypeptide chains (subunits) whereas myoglobin, which is structurally related to the subunits comprising hemoglobin and about the same size as one such subunit, contains only a single polypeptide chain. Which is likely to have the lower polar/nonpolar amino acid ratio, that is to have the highest percentage of nonpolar amino acids, a hemoglobin subunit or myglobin? Justify your answer.
