1. Using O*NET, Task Analysis, or a Competency Framework define the tasks and/or KSAOs/competencies for the position you have selected.
a. If using Task Analysis, list at least 7 key job responsibilities/tasks and 7 key job competencies. Include in the appendix the process by which you arrived at those responsibilities and competencies (how did you gather tasks and KSAOs - see Methods, Lecture 4; how did you select the final 7 tasks and KSAOs)
b. If using O*NET, identify a list of maximum 10 tasks and 10 KSAOs (can be 2 skills + 2 abilities etc.; see O*NET structure). Include in the Appendix the process by which/why you selected those tasks and KSAOs.
c. If using a Competency framework, identify at least 7 relevant competencies. Include in the Appendix why you selected those competencies.
2. Design a brief interview protocol to assess candidates for the position above, using at least two methods.
a. Choose two competencies from the ones you identified above.
b. Choose a method among: interviews, employment tests, assessment centers, work samples, biodata.
c. Design a brief protocol to test the competencies selected in (a) using the method selected in (b).
i. Example, if testing communication skills you can use: structured interviews and design behavioral/ situational questions targeting communication skills; biodata which might demonstrate communication skills (e.g., they've presented in national student competitions, they volunteered for ...); hypothetically ask them to phone customers and talk with them about service (work sample), etc.
3. Pick two of the relevant competencies for this position. What methods would you use to train those competencies? Why?
