For one of the two scenarios please answer the following questions from an Adlerian perspective.

• Describe what natural consequences, logical consequences, and punishment would look like with your chosen scenario.
• How you would explain the immediate and longer-term developmental pros and cons of each choice to the distressed and discouraged parent(s).
• What type of intervention (assuming that it is used consistently on the part of a caregiver) might impact a child's current peer relationships, later dating and couples relationships, and future parental practices.

Scenario 1

A 10-year-old child is unwilling to wake up on time to get ready for school. Mom does not know what to do anymore, and it seems like this has been going on for years. Mom is tired of yelling and doing things for her child because she has two other young ones to think about.

Scenerio 2

Both parents have new stressful jobs that are very demanding in terms of energy and time. Over the course of the past year, their two children have witnessed more arguing between them, short tempers, and threats to the kids if the parents see things happening that they don't like. For example, one night after arriving home, the parents found the kids' backpacks and books all over the floor, along with empty snack bags and soda bottles in front of the TV.
