Terek is the People (otherwise known as Human Resources) Manager for The Municipality of Valhaven (a non-unionized organization). One of his clients Samuel, the Manager of Facilities Management, approached Terek regarding an employee named Brenda. Samuel is wondering about "letting go" Brenda. Brenda had signed a one year employment contract nearly 25 years ago. The contract stated that Brenda could be terminated with two weeks' notice. The contract has never been modified or revisited. Brenda is now 71 years old. Samuel complains that Brenda misses a great deal of work due to caring for her aging aunt. You are also informed that that Brenda made a complaint last month that there were unsafe working conditions.
