Brief Course Description:

This course introduces learners to the field of Information Science. It covers what constitutes a profession, its history or epistemological orientation, African information environment and contribution to the information world.

Course Objective:

To provide learners with essential background of the profession.

By the end of the course, learners should be able to:

1. Understand the background to library and information science
