When applying statistical inference, we use information (data) from a sample to infer something about a wider population. For the laws of probability to apply, we must be sure that our data comes from a sample that is randomly selected or is designed as a randomized comparative experiment.
Identify a healthcare population you would be interested in learning more about and create a study design that addresses the following elements:
1. Define your variable(s).
2. Identify the procedure you will use for selecting the sample (randomized).
3. Describe how you plan to collect your data.
4. Identify the appropriate model to use for assigning probability to your outcomes (Continuous or Discrete).
