Introduction:

In the study of conflict analysis during this course, one soon realizes that the workplace is often the perfect setting for conflict to occur. When assessing even a seemingly small interpersonal conflict, one can benefit from a careful and objective assessment.

Generally, mediators are considered as neutral facilitators of communication between parties. Mediation is less expensive than legal proceedings; therefore, it is a valuable tool to implement early on if conflicts arise between groups or individuals. It can be conducted within a formal or informal setting. The mediation outcome is not predetermined as in the case of legal procedures.
Week 5 Assignment: Analyze Conflict Involving a Mediation Plan.

Activity Description

•Describe a work-related conflict experience. In your case study, be sure to include responses to the following:

•Provide a detailed explanation of the conflict, who was involved, what caused the conflict, along with any other important information.

•Explain the types of data a mediator may wish to gather and analyze in conducting a session to reduce or eliminate conflict.

•Assess how this information is utilized in a mediation plan by providing a detailed example of each.

Support case study with at least five scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.

Length: 5 pages, not including title and reference pages

The case study should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards. Be sure to adhere to Northcentral University's Academic Integrity Policy.
