Professional Internship Specialisation
Company - Spirited thinking
Overview
This assignment aims to enhance your ability to plan a specific project that is relevant to your degree studies. The proposal is an agreement between yourself, your workplace supervisor and your academic coordinator. You are required to write a short proposal including project objectives/outcomes, appropriate strategies/actions to achieve the objectives, etc. to guide your work-based project while you are on internship.
By developing your Project Proposal, you are creating a clear learning path and parameters for the work-based project which forms part of your internship.
When developing this Project Proposal, make sure you have a conversation with your workplace supervisor to ensure they are in agreement with your proposed objectives/outcomes. It is important there is agreement between yourself and your supervisor as to what you hope to achieve. The intention is that the project will produce tangible outcomes, which both enhance your learning and are useful to your host organisation. Your supervisor will also be able to confirm whether your goals are realistic in their workplace environment, within the allocated timeframe and with the resources that are available. Please ensure you discuss all the evidence you plan to use with your supervisor, as there may be concerns with sensitive data or breaching confidentiality agreements.
At the end of the internship, you will present your project outcomes to your supervisor (in an oral presentation and report) where they will review and evaluate your performance in working towards your defined outcomes.
Learning Outcome 1: Apply disciplinary knowledge through the research, planning, design and implementation of a relevant work-based project in a professional environment.
Learning Outcome 2: Demonstrate initiative and personal and professional leadership in a professional environment
