Assessment - Client Presentation: Artefact Model

Case Study: Addressing Low User Adoption of a New Software Product

Task

This assessment is to be completed individually. There are two parts in this assessment. In Part A, you will design and deliver a recommended artefact model to the client in the form of an in-person presentation. In Part B, you will be required to provide a peer review on another presentation. Your facilitator will allocate a presentation for you to review.

Assessment Description

This assessment is designed to assess your ability to present research findings related to a client's IT problem.

Learning outcome 1: Collaborate with colleagues in the completion of IT-based research activities.
Learning outcome 2: Recommend multi-disciplinary IT solutions.
Learning outcome 3: Present research findings and solutions to a client.

Assessment Instructions

Students must conduct research externally and included references to produce a well referenced assessment. You should use at least five (5) sources of information and reference these in accordance with any standard referencing style. These may include websites, social media sites, industry reports, census data, journal articles, and newspaper articles. These references should be presented as in-text citations and a referencing list at the end of your slides (not included in the word limit). Wikipedia and other ‘popular' sites are not to be used.
Part A: An in-class presentation.
10. You are not allowed to update slides after submission. The uploaded file will be used for your in- class presentation.
Part B: A reflection on your own presentation, along with feedback on a peer's presentation you choose to critique based on the in-class presentation that you attended in week 11 / week 12. Submit Part B through MyKBS by the deadline in Week 13.

Part A:
You will deliver an in-class presentation during week 11 or 12 as instructed by your facilitator. You should have made a submission of your slides before the presentation. The presentation should include the following topics:
Client Understanding:
Familiarise yourself with the client's IT-based requirements and organisational context, considering the client's industry-specific challenges.
Multi-disciplinary IT Solutions:
Recommend multi-disciplinary IT solutions that address the client's problems.
Use advanced concepts, theories, and frameworks from different disciplines to develop innovative and effective solutions.

Artefact Model Design:
Develop an artefact model (e.g., presentation slides, interactive prototype, visual demonstration) that effectively communicates the recommended model to the client.
Ensure the artefact model is visually appealing, well-structured, and tailored to address the specific concerns of the client.
Presentation Delivery:
Prepare a compelling presentation based on the artefact model design to deliver to the client.
Professionalism and Communication:
Demonstrate professionalism, resilience, and effective communication skills throughout the assessment, especially when interacting with the client. You are required to use professional dress code for the presentations.
You are required to answer questions raised by the audience after the presentation.

Part B:
You are required to submit comments on your own presentation as well as a critique on another student's presentation.
Your feedback/comments should include the following:
Reflection on your own presentation: Provide a self-assessment of your performance, including what went well and areas for improvement. Reflect on your preparation, delivery, clarity of content, and how effectively you engaged your audience. Consider aspects like your use of visuals, pacing, and responses to questions.
Appraise another student's presentation: Offer constructive feedback on a peer's presentation, highlighting strengths such as clarity, organization, or creativity. Additionally, suggest areas for improvement, such as content depth, presentation style, or the effectiveness of visual aids. Be specific in your feedback, ensuring it is helpful and respectful. Ensure to clearly indicate the peer (other student) name, their topic of presentation before providing your comments.
