1. Define the Critical Chain. Explain the concept of CCPM and how resources drive the actions of the Project Manager.

2. Writing the final report provides a history of project. The report includes initial planning efforts, milestone achievements, progress against plan, impediments to project and so on.

a. Outline the major areas of a final report.

b. Also include a paragraph on project team recommendations – what information is included and how might the information be used.

3. Controlling a project requires analyzing efforts and providing reports that provide status of aspects of the project. Exception reports are noteworthy across the list of reports. Define exception report? Note who exception reports are written for? How long is the typical exception report? 4. Closing a Project - Closing the project is routine once you have the client’s agreement that all deliverables have been met according to scope outlined in project contracts.

a. Closing the project consist of six major steps.

c. Include typical activities and documents associated with the steps.

5. Currently the project management landscape includes traditional project management, agile project management and a number of other models and variations. The traditional model is good for projects that are well defined and goals are clear. Additionally few changes are expected and much of the project effort is known and well supported by tools, templates, and team member skill sets.

a. Indicate unique factors that define traditional project management efforts and list strengths of the Traditional linear PMLC.

6. JLB Construction has been contracted to provide a security enclosure for a Water Distribution facility for a major metropolitan area. The structure is in the shape of a pentagon and is a wall. One side of the wall contains a secure gate for exit and entry. Total project cost is estimated at 1 million dollars. The wall will be 10 feet tall with securing system on top of wall. Wall is 12 inches think with a foundation six feet deep. Gate area allows for the entry of all vehicles including construction vehicles. The cost to construct each side of the wall is essentially the same. Initial construction went pretty well – on schedule and with current spending at 700,000. Currently the Gate wall and two additional walls have been constructed.
