Imagine you are a criminal justice professional at a large police department. Local law enforcement and private security teams have been facing scrutiny regarding the use of force, language used, and treatment of certain community members. Some have raised issues with the lack of diversity among officers as they are predominantly from similar backgrounds. To address these concerns, the mayor has ordered you to initiate a collaborative project with local private security firms to develop a comprehensive recruitment plan aimed at attracting a more diverse set of officers.

Assessment Deliverable

Create a Ten to twelve-slide recruitment plan presentation that enhances diversity and fosters a partnership with local private security teams. Include the following in your presentation:

• Develop and define goals and objectives for the recruitment plan.
• Discuss recommendations for the composition (e.g., number, race, ethnicity, and gender) of the recruitment teams for law enforcement and private security.
• Explain the recruitment activities and training for recruits.
• Recommend programs to address the heavy time commitment to the job.
• Recommend ways to educate applicants about the day-to-day policing work (i.e., non-dangerous activities, such as directing traffic).
• Explain the best places for the recruitment team to visit for community outreach.
• Consider the virtues of web-based outreach separate from the agency's website.
• Explain the interview and application process, making sure it eliminates any cultural or racial biases.
• Recommend ways to determine whether the interview and testing process has no cultural or racial biases.

Include a title slide, a reference slide, and detailed speaker notes of at least fifty words per slide.
