In this discussion I will be describing a clinical model and have you try and guess which I am talking about. In this case study a 21 year old female came in with these following symptoms, fatigue, thirst, flattened neck veins, dry mucous membranes and decreased urine output. Upon further examination and vitals she also had decreased blood pressure and incrased heart rate. The patient stated she had been at the beach all day in the sun and hadnt drank very many fluids the entire day. After hearing this the nurse assessed skin and found she had decreased skin turgor. The nurse described the pathophysiology by saying since she had decreased fluid intake it resulted in a defcit in body fluid volume.
