CHIEF COMPLAINT/HISTORY OF PRESENT ILLNESS: This is a 35-year-old female brought to the ER by her mother with decrease in level of consciousness and respiratory difficulty. She has end stage Breast cancer diagnosed a year ago. Biopsy of right lower lobe 9 months ago revealed adenocarcinoma that has now metastasized to the lung, bones and brain. The patient has received eight monthly cycles of chemotherapy but has not responded to the treatment so far. She is accompanied by her mother who states she wants "everything possible done for her daughter." No advance directives are in place.
