Also look at what is already being done in your community by searching online for local or national organizations that share your concern. Examining what others with the same goal are doing, or have done, is an excellent way to build a better plan.

Once you have an idea for a community project, create a three-page proposal.

1. A description of the community project, including identifying a problem and explaining your solution

2. How this project relates to forestry or creating a cleaner environment

3. Any resources you would need to complete it (supplies, transportation, or volunteers)

4. Who you would like to support your project (city government, a local community group)

5. Some research on organizations in your area and what they have done to address similar issues.
