Recruitment (Recruiting)/Complete the following questions to develop a recruiting plan.
Scenario: You have been appointed with the opportunity to develop a multi-sports kids day camp. You are responsible for hiring a sports director (the sports director will be involved with recruiting and hiring all camp coaches), a marketing director and an administrator.
My question is: Create three interview questions (one for each role, sports director, marketing director and administrator) that will help you to determine the candidate's tendency (base this on your recommendations from question 1), using the interview question strategies: Behavioural, Situational, Motivational.
1. 1 for outlining which role it's related to and their tendency
2. 1 for outlining the type of question you will use (behavioural, situational etc)
3. 1 for the actual question
4. 1 for the explanation of how this question will help you to determine the candidates tendency
Question 1: Identify which tendency may be the most valuable for each of the three positions you are recruiting for, (Upholder, Obliger, Questioner, Rebel) and provide a minimum of two points to justify your response.
Answers:
- Sports Director - Upholder
As the director of the event, he/she should be the one making the rules and final decisions. As the head, he or she must be able to give directives and make sure tasks are being accomplished.
- Marketing Director - Questioner
He/She will work hand-in-hand with the Sports Director but not necessarily agree with everything that the Sports Director says. The specific purpose of his or her job is to make the event marketable which may or may not be on the same page with the Sports Director, who has a wider perspective on the event.
- Administrator - Obliger
He/She will be accountable with all the tasks for the event to be successful. He must follow all the instructions given to him and work according to plan.
