Case: Let's imagine that you work in a marketing agency in Østfold that deals with various tasks within marketing. Your specialty is in various eateries.

Let's imagine that a large food hall "Food from Østfold" is opened in Halden. The food hall will be a common place for the best local eateries in Østfold. Mathallen is considering establishing itself first in Halden and later elsewhere in Østfold, e.g. Sarpsborg, Fredrikstad and Moss.

An eatery that you know well from before contacted you so that you could either help this place enter the Mathallen as one of the best eateries on the market, or that you create a marketing strategy for the company to be prepared for the competitive situation on the market.

You can decide for yourself whether you make:

a marketing strategy in the time perspective of 1 year so that the eatery you know enters the Mathallen, in other words becomes a winner on the local market, or you create a marketing strategy in the time perspective of 1 year to become stronger on the market due to a tougher competitive situation after the Mathallen is opened.

The assignment must be well structured. You must use relevant theoretical models and good argumentation. Feel free to use the following structure:

Introduction

Briefly about the chosen company

Briefly about the situation on the market for the selected company

Briefly about theoretical models you used or will use to answer the assignment

Briefly describe the method you used or will use to answer the task

Brief presentation of data materials you have to use them in the main part

The main part (market strategy): what factors can affect the situation for the company on the market and what measures you propose for the company to achieve its goals

Conclusion

It is important that you use your knowledge of developments in Halden municipality if you are going to describe the market situation in Halden.

You will also be asked to complete the following task

to create 3 scenarios (positive, neutral and negative) for the development of the restaurant you know and have described in task 1. You must basically make the choices you have made in task 1.

Include the following important factors in your assessments: border trade as one of the most important factors in Østfold and covid-19 which has been a constant threat of closure or restrictions for almost 2 years.

The task must be well structured as the scenario methodology requires. It is important that all claims are well argued. You can decide for yourself whether to use the "finger print" diagram or not in the scenario section.
