Assignment:

During the CIR, you will take on 3 roles: counselor, client, and supervisor.

As a counselor, you will practice the essential skills (e.g., open-ended questions, empathy, reflect emotions, probing) to collect assessment information necessary for a diagnosis and other data points (presenting problem, mental health history, family history, etc).
As a client, you will role-play the clinical case study given to you by your instructor. These case studies may also be found in your 667 Microsoft Team in "Files" uploaded by your instructor. Be prepared to role-play the case study given to you. Be able to answer the prompts around onset (when the problems began), what is the presenting problem, what are the signs, symptoms, frequency of symptoms, how long do they last, etc.
As a supervisor, you will observe your classmate who is the "counselor." At the end of your classmate's recording as a "counselor" will provide feedback orally. What skills did you see them do well? What areas could they have improved upon when conducting an assessment using their counseling skills?
