Today in the pediatrician's practice where you work, you have a distraught father who is concerned about his daughter's colic. Her cries and screams greatly concern him. When she scrunches up her legs, she is even hard to hold. This father seems particularly uncomfortable with the situation, but has a really strong desire to know what to do to make his daughter more at ease. It is a particularly busy day in the practice, and after the doctor has determined the problem is colic alone, she asks you to take some time with the father to demonstrate some techniques that might be helpful.
