According to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, approximately 54.6% of all U.S. citizens test positive to one or more allergens. Between 9% and 16% suffer from hay fever. A random sample of people who suffer from hay fever was obtained, and each was treated with either a conventional antihistamine or butterbur extract. The number of subjects who experienced relief from hay fever was recorded for each group. The resulting data are given in the following table.
