A concerned local resident called the compliance hotline about a conversation she overheard between two local hospital nurses in a local Wal-Mart. The nurses were reportedly discussing a patient named Barbara, who was admitted for diabetes treatment. One nurse said something about Barbara's "bug-eyes," and the other said it meant Barbara probably had an overactive thyroid (Graves' disease). The nurses were debating aloud whether to tell Barbara their suspicions. According to the caller, the patient's last name was NOT mentioned. The caller said she believed the nurses' first names were David and Marie but was not 100% sure. The caller was quite certain the nurses worked for hospital.
