1. Using your favorite browser, open the search engine of your choice. For example: https://www.google.com

2. Search the Web to find place to download an image editor that supports GIF, JPG, and PNG images. Popular choices are JASC Paint Shop Pro or Adobe Fireworks. Freeware versions or demo products are available for both.

3. Install the image editor selected in step 2.

4. Search your computer for a GIF image. You can also download a new GIF image from the Web if you like.

5. Open the GIF image the image editor and save it as a JPG.

6. Reopen the same GIF image and save it as a PNG-8 image.
