Question
Command line arguments are values that the user can pass to a program when running it from a command line. These arguments can be used to control the behavior of the program or to provide input data. If you want to take a file and move it from your desktop to a different file location typically you would open the desktop folder and then open another window to the desired file location. You would then click and drag the file from the desktop to the other file location and drop it there. This would complete moving the file from one location to the next. When using the command line you have to specify the file and location using command line arguments, which are typed after the program name.
Some advantages of using command line arguments are it provides faster performance, it uses less memory, can work on any operating system, and it can work on monitors with low-resolution. One of the disadvantages of using command line arguments include if you do not already know how to use it, it can be harder to learn. Also it's impractical for some devices such as phones and tablets as command line arguments require a keyboard to type.
An example of a script that uses command line arguments to perform a system administration task would be either shutting down the computer or restarting. This is accomplished from the command line with shutdown / s for shutdown and shutdown /r for a full shutdown and restart. I believe this is the best way to execute this script because you learn more about your system and how it works.
