Revise: While I was working at the hospital during COVID, I specifically remember a co-worker testing positive for COVID directly following a trip to New Orleans for St. Patricks Day of 2020. That co-worker was told to stay home for an additional 2 weeks. When I got COVID for the first time this year, 2024, I was told that I could return to work 5 days after the onset of my symptoms. I still was not feeling my best and stayed out longer than this to prevent burnout. And now just last week, news broke that as early as April, those who test positive for COVID may not have to isolate if there is no fever (Huang, 2024).
