Question

The nurse is caring for an adult female client admitted with community-acquired pneumonia who has been on a ventilator for 14 days. Earlier in the day, the client had a 7.5 mm French cuffed tracheostomy tube inserted for ongoing ventilatory support. After receiving the report and reviewing the chart, the nurse enters the room and finds the client coughing with audible gurgling when she breathes. Vital Signs Date & Time Temperature Pulse Resp.
