You are the home health nurse for Mr. Spiro, is a 64-year-old male who is suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). He is on home oxygen at 2L/min/nasal canula and was started on steroid therapy about 3 months ago. When you arrive at his home, you perform a physical assessment. Your findings include the following: BP 175/92, P 96, R 24, skin pale and grayish in color, face is full-looking, barrel chest with decreased respirations throughout, pursed-lip breathing, heart has regular rate and rhythm, arms and legs are thin with increased bruising on both arms. Truncal obesity is present with fat round clavicles and the neck. He is complaining of feeling weak and fatigued.
