Question

You are exploring the capabilities of Bamboo HR in terms of storing employee information. As you have learned through your reading, an HRMS is essentially a large database of information about past, current and prospective employees. In addition to simply storing data, this software also has capabilities to perform actions called 'workflows', which we will also explore. For purposes of this week's journal, I ask you to focus on the database of information housed in an HRMS such as BambooHR. Before responding to my question, it may be helpful for you to return to BambooHR and look at the fields of information that COULD be gathered about you. (Remember, I didn't ask you complete every field. Some of them I skipped.) After reviewing the information that could be gathered, do you see any information that, in your opinion, should NOT be gathered by an employer? Any information being sought that seems to be beyond the scope of business necessity? If so, please list the items, and why you believe this is outside the scope of what an employer should ask for.
