Application: Bimetal conductor. A conductor is made of two materials as shown in Figure 7.41. This is typical of bimetal devices. The device is connected to a voltage source.

(a) Calculate the current density in each material.

(b) Calculate the total power dissipated in each material.

(c) Assuming that each material has the same coefficient of expansion and the same power dissipating capability which way will the bimetal device bend? Explain.
