A certain piston cylinder assembly has a stroke of 85mm, a connection rod length of 130 mm and a piston pin offset of 2mm. Calculate the displacement, velocity and acceleration of the assembly operating at 2200 RPM. If the same configuration is used but the cylinder bore is offset by 10mm perpendicular to the axis of the crankshaft, calculate the displacement, velocity and acceleration for this assembly and compare it to the previous one. Why might one design an offset?
