Ethics are the rules that guide a person's behavior and help them distinguish between good and bad. I worked as a medical assistant at an urgent care facility in the beginning of my profession. To help with minor patient treatment during low category hurricanes and tropical storms, the clinic remained open. Triage is essential to disaster management to manage patient care. "Triage refers to the evaluation and categorization of the sick or wounded when there are insufficient resources for the medical care of everyone at once (Conrad Stoppler, 2018)". This procedure determines who needs to be moved to the hospital and whose care the clinic can provide.
