FUNDAMENTALS OF HR MANAGEMENT 1008 Goal:

Task:

To increase awareness of current human resources issues.

Familiarize yourself with the current events in the Human Resources Management field in Canada. Select a topic in Human Resources, related to a specific area that interests you.

(some examples are but not limited to: violence in the workplace, sexual harassment, cultural diversity, changing demographics, shortage of skilled trades, employment benefits, health and safety issues, recruitment issues, compensation, labour relations etc)

You will research this topic accessing research from credible sources to identify best practices today. (at least 5 research sources) Address issues and challenges faced by organizations in the subject area you have chosen and express your opinions on how these challenges may be overcome. Educate me on this subject.

The articles should pertain to issues in Canada and should be dated within the last 2 years.

Research: Choose articles from credible sources as well as the national periodicals such as the National Post, Globe and Mail as well as HR periodicals such as the HR Reporter and other relevant publications. i.e. academic journals, business articles, other business related or Human Resources publications.
