Her mother noticed a significant change in Emily's eating habits when she started high school. The patient's mother stated that EY became increasingly critical of her appearance, often talking about feeling "fat," despite everyone in the house noticing her decreasing weight. EY has reduced her portion sizes significantly and avoids high-calorie foods. Because of this, EY began skipping meals, particularly breakfast and lunch, claiming she wasn't hungry. She also extended her physical activity, incorporating daily jogging and routine exercises, even when visibly exhausted. Her mother says these behaviors intensified after EY joined the swimming team, where she became more conscious of body image. EY has lost approximately 15% of her body weight over the past year. Her current weight is 41 kg (90 pounds), with a height of 1.62 m (5'4"), resulting in a BMI of 15.6, which is below the 5th percentile for her age and height.
