Chicago Laboratory Services (CLS) processes medical samples and runs tests for local clinics and hospitals. They have 4 lab techs. Each tech takes 20 minutes on average (exponentially distributed processing times) to run a test and complete the report. By standard procedure, the techs are sent 10 samples per hour (exponential inter-arrivals) from the refrigeration building for processing. Medical samples are sensitive and go bad if they have to wait for over 15 minutes without refrigeration. Please use Excel or a queueing spreadsheet!
