Sometimes people would like to change their behaviors. For example, they smoke and want to stop smoking, or they perennially are late to meetings and want to be on time. They have good intentions and want to change. Sometimes they are successful, but many times they are not. Your textbook outlines a theory that has been successful in predicting people's behavioral choices. Ajzen's theory of planned behavior suggests three factors that influence the ability to change behavior. The factors are attitude toward behavior, perceived behavioral control, and subjective norm.
