Question

You are working in a cardiologist's office with a patient who had an episode of angina and a stent placed for a 90% blockage of the anterior interventricular branch of the left coronary artery. The patient did not have heart damage but needs to follow a more heart-smart lifestyle to prevent any cardiovascular problems. The licensed practitioner has asked that you spend time educating this patient before he leaves the office. When you enter the exam room to begin your patient education, the patient makes the following comment: "I know why you are here, and I don't think you can do anything to help me."
