Assignment -
Purpose: Reflection and action planning allows an individual to personalize key lessons and engage in a process of sense making that is often not possible amidst the busyness of one's life. They are critical for learning and self-development, and fundamental to effective organizational behaviour.
Guidelines - Based on surveys & self-insights and course materials from the first six classes, identify, integrate and analyze the strengths & potential weaknesses you may bring to organizational team-member and team-leader roles, and develop a meaningful plan to become even more effective in both; starting with the second part of this class and your Team Assignment!
Paper should be 4.5-5 pages long excluding the cover page. Paper should include:
Introduction (0.5-.75 page): briefly introduce yourself & your approach to this assignment;
What Learned About OB (1 page): provide a brief summary of key lessons you have learned about effective organizational behaviour. Refer to multiple concepts and show understanding of why they matter. Please write in your own words; DO NOT just copy class material/definitions
THIS IS ME/What Learned about Myself (2 pages): 1st page - Summarize the results of all Self-Insights and what each may mean on one page (use template provided on next page); 2nd page - Integrate themes that emerged from multiple insights and identify your strengths and areas for further improvement in relation to effective organizational behaviour;
FROM NOW ON/My Action Plan (1 page): based on identified strengths and areas for improvement, create a relevant and substantive action plan to become an even better team member and leader, starting with the second part of this class & your Team Assignment! Use the Start-Stop-Continue template provided on page 3 of this document & make sure to elaborate on each action item in a short paragraph.
