Wanda is a 22-year old African-American female who lives alone. She is quiet and smiles constantly. She has not had a boyfriend since high school. She works as a nurse who takes private duty patients who are wealthy and often very sick. She states that she works better when she only has one patient and does not have to interact with other staff. She describes herself as shy but states that she wants to be more social. She states that she feels like everyone else is better than she is so she does not try to be around people because they will judge her. She has her family with whom she is close and two friends from grade school. She avoids high school reunions or other large events because she is afraid that people will laugh at her. Recently a man she met at a dinner with her friends asked her out. She wants to go but thinks he will reject her once he gets to know her since she is so ordinary.
