Question

Ben is three (3) years old, and he has an acquired brain injury which affects his movement, balance, communication, and learning. His mother, Emma, had a normal pregnancy followed by a prolonged birth leading to Ben attaining a low Apgar score. Ben failed to meet expected milestones during his first year of life and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at 15 months of age. Ben lives in rural Australia with his parents and two older siblings aged, 8 and 14 years of age. The family are First Nations Australians. Ben's father, Jack, is an interstate truck driver which leaves Emma to care for the children including attending to Ben's cares and needs. TASK As professionals working with children, we need to explore the maintenance of health and well-being for children to ensure that they reach their potential.
