Question

Ms. Walters, a well-known and respected journalist who is now retired, is a 90-year-old female with a history of an aortic valve replacement who presents for a follow-up visit of nausea, fatigue, muscle weakness and intermittent tingling sensations in her legs for three days. Her medications include Lisinopril 10 mg/day, HCTZ 25 mg/day, and Spironolactone 25 mg/day. Her PE revealed a grade II/VI holosystolic murmur, baseline for patient, otherwise noncontributory. Her labs draw revealed a potassium level of 6.2 mEq/L. ECG is baseline normal for the patient.
