Question
While this course is about Interpersonal Communication, we have also touched on the importance and influence of Intrapersonal Communication, or communication within oneself.
We always have a running commentary in our own heads about what we perceive, think, feel, and believe about ourselves and our lives. That reality leads us to an important question then. Are you your own worst critic or your own best advocate?
I have collected a variety of statements related to this concept. They are shared below.
You can never speak to anyone more than you speak to yourself in your head, be kind to yourself.
Whatever you are not changing, you are choosing. Read that again.
If you can change your mind, you can change your life.
One small positive thought in the morning can change your whole day . . . (and I would add that a changed day can become a changed week, month, year and, ultimately, a changed life.)
Think about this idea and then join your classmates in a group discussion. You can build your first post off one of the statements above or share one of your own that impacts your life.
