REGION: ULTRASOUND GUIDED AMNIOCENTESIS PROCEDURE INDICATION: Abdominal quadrant screening.

FINDINGS: Multiple static gray scale images obtained for the purposes of amniocentesis. A single intrauterine pregnancy is demonstrated. The placenta is anterior without evidence of placenta previa. M-mode Doppler evaluation of the fetal heart reveals cardiac activity at 145 bpm before the procedure and 142 bpm following the amniocentesis procedure. Limited evaluation of the fetus for gestational age reveals biometric parameters compatible with a 17 week 5 day gestational age. Amniotic fluid appears to be within normal limits.
