MICROFILAMENTS

  1. Discovered by Pelvitz.
  2. These are smallest cell structure.
  3. These are non-living structures.
  4. These are solid structures, consists of actin protein (contractile protein)
  5. These are absent in cell organelles.
  6. Diameter of microfilament = 5-10 nm
  7. Present just below the plasma membrane.
  8. Play role in cyclosis (streaming movement of cytoplasm).
