Improvements to Public Bus Transport:

Since buses carry a large number of passengers, improvements in bus transport is a cheap solution. Some of the possible improvements are:

(a) Exclusive Bus Lanes, where only buses can run. The High Capacity Bus System (HCBS) being planned in Delhi is one such.

(b) Introduction of buses with low floors, so that passengers can get in and get out easily.
