Ans. In a high resolution system the adjacent pixels are so near spaced such approximated line-pixels lie extremely close to the real line path and thus the plotted lines show to be much smoother, mostly like straight lines drawn on paper. Within a low resolution system, the similar approximation technique causes lines to be displayed along with a "stairstep apperance" that is not smooth.
